How long do the wine racks take to assemble and can anyone do this?

How do I attach the racks to the wall?
Our wine Cellar Racking Kits are designed to be free standing and although it's not necessary to attach them to a wall, WineRacks.com strongly recommends that you do anchor them to the wall. If you would like the extra stability (or you live in earthquake country) you can drill through the rear spacer bars of your rack and attach it to the studs in your wall
Do the racks require a finish?
Our wine racks constructed of cedar and mahogany do not require a finish to last a lifetime in your winecellar however, we do have the ability to stain or finish your wine racking to match existing trim or change the color to suit your tastes. Racks constructed of oak require a clear seal coat of finish at the very least, in order to prevent this porous wood from absorbing dirt and changing color.
What wood species should I choose for my racking?
We manufacture our wine cellar racks out of Mahogany and Western Red Cedar. Both species are moisture tolerant, pest resistant and do not require a finish to be durable and attractive for a lifetime. The only real diffence between the wood species are the colors and grain. Cedar ranges from pale yellow to a reddish color, is lighter in weight than mahogany and has a wider grain. Mahogany ranges from dark grey to deep reddish brown, is very dense and has a tight grain. The choice is yours
I have an unusual space and I don't see any racks that will fit, can you help me?
Our line of wine cellar racking is designed to mix and match to fit most applications, but we have a complete design team that is always willing to work with you to create wine storage to suit your space.
Do I need to do anything special to make a room into a wine cellar?
To help maintain the proper temperature and moisture level in your wine cellar, you will want to make sure you have installed proper vapor barrier and insulation. We have a complete cellar preparation guide that you can download for more information. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about your cellar room construction.
