Wine Rack Assembly
  Assembly Tools & Tips
  Assembly Instructions

WineRacks.com Frequently Asked Questions

Do your wine racks come already assembled?
Our Oak Home Floor Model wine racks are shipped fully assembled and finished. All of the other wooden racks that we sell do require some assembly. It usually involves attaching what we call spacer bars (the horizontal bars that you see on the front and back of the rack). The holes are predrilled in the spacer bars and we provide you with the screws and assembly instructions. Our Stackable, and Spoke & Peg racks fit together with no hardware required. Other wine racking may require some minor assembly and that will be indicated in the product description.

Which wood should I choose for my cellar racks?
We offer our cellar kit racks in Cedar, Redwood and Mahogany. All of these species of woods don't require any kind of sealer or finish to last for many years. Cedar is a light red/brown color and is light yet durable, in addition to being economically priced. Redwood is similar in weight and durability to the Cedar and is a slightly darker reddish color. Our premium wine racks are made of Mahogany, which is a hard wood and weighs twice as much as the cedar or pine. The Mahogany is a darker red/brown with a tight grain that has a very smooth finish and is extremely durable.

What's the difference between Redwood and Cedar?
We use high quality Western Red Cedar as a very economical alternative to redwood. A consistent quality of Redwood has become increasingly more difficult and expensive to find. Western Red Cedar is non-aromatic and has no odor that can penetrate your cork and cause odd flavors in your wine; it is not the kind of cedar typically used in closet linings, etc. The cedar is very moisture and temperature tolerant, resists rot and pests and does not require a finish to keep its nice color.

How do I attach my racks to the wall?
Our wine Cellar Racking Kits are designed to be free standing and it is not necessary to attach them to a wall. If you would like the extra stability (or you live in earthquake country) you can drill through the rear spacer bars of your rack and attach it to the studs in your wall.

I have an unusual space, and I don't see any racks that will fit, can you help me?
Since we are the manufacturer, we can customize any of the wooden racks you see on our site or create one, just for your special storage situation. For more information e-mail our cellar designer at winecellars@wineracks.com.

How do I know if an item is in stock?
We usually indicate whether an item is out of stock on our catalog page. If, for some reason, we will not be able to ship your order within 7 business days, we will send you an email.

When will I receive my order?
We make every effort to ship in a timely manner. In stock items are shipped within 3 to 5 business days. Stemware, Cooling Units, Wine Cabinets and some Picnic Baskets/Totes are drop shipped from the manufacturer and usually ship within 2 weeks. Most of our retail wine racks and our Oak Home Floor Model racks are made to order and usually ship within 3 weeks. If you have a time constraint, and would like us to rush your order, please contact us and we will see if that is possible. You will receive an email from FedEx with your tracking information when your item is shipped.

Do you ship to locations outside the US ?
We can ship almost anywhere in the world, and we have! In order to ship to another country, we would need to know which items you are looking to order and the address where you would like them shipped, in order to provide you with a quote for shipping costs. In most cases you would still be responsible for any customs charges and VAT once your order arrives in your country.

How do I return an item?
Please see our return policy for details.
